Most people who visit this website don't know about the existance of L.A.O.P.S. My freeware lineart program that will run on any operating system. But currently i've shifted focus onto my other program SVGE, SlashAndBurn's Vector Graphic Editor. It's going to be a free Illustrator like program.

Kit Release

3D2Toy.com proud to present the Vortigaunt Kit. It contains the 24"x34" and 36"x48" versions. Sorry there is no 8.5"x14" pattern this time, because of the piece size it would be impossible to construct. The kit also includes a part guide to help with it's construction.

It's Alive

After two weeks of downtime my primary computer is working again. It was funny, I though my motherboard fried out, but it was my power button and power supply that failed.

I updated the ant lion project. It now contains pictures of the ant lion being put together. As of this time it has cost me over $100 to get to this point.

A S.O.P minimizer is now ready for download. This has nothing to do with plush toys, but i made it. It works, if your in a digital logic class you'll understand.

The combine elite SD pattern should be ready on sat... or sunday. And I'm About 90% done with making a poison headcrab. I have both halves, but they arn't connected, and i'm re-inforcing the seams(Re-stiching every seam, but higher up).

New preview

This is a first, a preview kit actually has parts of the pattern in it. The combine elite super deformed preview contains all of the peices needed to create a combine elite head. This preview pattern is larger then the final version.

The Next Pattern

After little though I decided to start on the super deformed combine elite pattern. Instead of trying to be accurate i'm going to enlarge the head and give it a short body. The 3D renderings just look so cool. The only part i need to figure out is how to do it's hands. I'm thinking about making them like oven mits.

Current Status

Today I started the process of making a pattern for the poison headcrab. It should take me about a week to finish it.

Kit Update

Finally after months of procrastination I decided to update headcrab 1.1 to current pattern standards. Now instead of a part guide there are numbers to help with it’s assembly, and I also checked every corner for size issues. So now it should actually fit together better. The updated version is 1.2.

1K and Still Going

Headcrab 1.0 has been downloaded over 1,000 times. But for a sidenote, there were a few weeks when i didn't track download counts, so most likely it's off by 50-150 downloads. I hope that at least 1/10 people who download it have at least attempted to make one.

Another sidenote the chumtoad is hanging around 516 downloads. And out of those i know that at least 4 exists.

And now there is the matter of the ant lion. It has been downloaded more times then the chumtoad, but i haven't seen/read anyone else trying to make one, except for me.

And today I sent back the bad sewing machine, so hopefully i will have enough soon to buy a good one soon, maybe next week.

I'm still working on new patterns. I should have some out in a while, but at this time school is controling my life.

Some Updates

I updated the Ant Lion project with pictures of the cut out pieces. In total there are 60 pieces, but the main problem of not having a sewing machine is my only hindrance to making it. And I should have some new chumtoad pics up soon.

State of the Ant Lion Address

I'm getting bored with normal titles.

My Ant Lion project will get some updates soon, I have all of the fabric, I traced out all of the parts, but i haven't cut out the normal "Yellow" fabric yet. Sidenote: You will need more then 1 1/8 yards or "brown", I ran out of brown for two peices, but it will still look great. The two peices were the leg connector on the back and a part under the head.

I would get this done faster, but i need a sewing machine. I currently have a machine, but i don't have a power cord/pedal for it. So i'm trying to save up some to buy a $80 machine from the web, but before that i need to return one i bought from target for $34, because it's a POS.

Any donation would be extremely helpfull in my quest to aquire a working sewing machine.

I'm not going to have any new news to post for a while. I really want to work ont he ant lion, but i can't afford the fabric at this time. But i may start of a few more patterns.

Decompiler Update

I just updated the SMD2AC3D decompiler. Now it will export the mesh as a single object, but you still need to remove doubles.

Ant Lion kit 1.0 Poster Edition has been release for all. It's 4 pages and 24"x34" in size. Just for reference the wing part will be about 2 feet tall.

Decompiler Update

I just re-wrote the entire SMDTORAW, with my inprogress SMD2AC3D code, so now i call it SMD2Raw 2.0. It actually has a user interface and will make smaller files. In athe next version i'm going to add options to have the textures transfer over or color the triangles. If anyone really want's a smd decompiler for a specific file format then just send me an e-mail and if you can a reference doc to the file format.

Kit Release

Ant Lion kit 1.0 has been release for all. This one contains around 29 peices. I will try to make one in a week or two, but it will be life sized. I will have a poster pdf version of it out later.

Current Events

I don't like people thinking of this website as a commercial product. There is no product for this website to sell. It has no real purpose other then spreading patterns and showing off other people work. It does have shameless donation links all around, but the difference between a professional and an amature is the professional is being paid for their work. This website makes no money from it's work other then the donations provided by happy surfers. This is the only negative thing I have said in a while and it just makes me so angry. There will be NO MORE UPDATES FOR THE PLANTHALFLIFE.COM MESSAGE BOARDS.

For some reason I found myself helping a friend with his logo. He gave me this and I made this. I think it turned out nicely. If anyone wants AIM icons based off of the line art on this website just let me know and i'll put some up.

Pattern News

I traced every part of the ant lion pattern. Later this week when i have some time i'll check all of the angles & edges. Then it will be released.

Also a poster print of the bullsquid pattern is available. It's actually two seperate posters and the parts have been re-sized to take advantage of the paper size 35"x23" and 16"x20".

Project News

The next project/pattern i will be working on is the Ant Lion. This one may take some time. Lot's of work will need to be done to the model to make it ready for pattern making. I have started the process of creating patterns for the "Big Momma", "Ant Lion" and "Gorge (NS)". I would like to say that these models are extremely complex. It will take some time for me to simplify them down to their basic parts, I would really like to get the antlion out first, just because i want to make a life-sized version as a bean bag chair.

Other

I ordered the I Have Crabs" Messenger Bag and Elite Magnet (L.O.P.S). Once they arrive i'll post some picture. And if anyone wants a shirt/other item with a specific image just on it just left me know and it will magically appear in the store.

The Future

I really want to expand this website in a lot of ways. Here are just a few of my ideas.

Messageboard: phpBB board and also areas for members, (which is always going to be free) to have their own news page and image area.

Members: Individual member pages with images. This would be an area where you could upload some html(pre-built html scripts will be made available) and pictures. Then i could add more features like a member of the day and allow levels of membership so a few could post directly to the main page.

Images: Will now be at minimal 800x600 in dimension.

Download: I will re-write the download system and make it easier to add uploads. And make it easy to for users to submit files directly to me.

If you want to help, just donate a few dollars to the site. It costs around $40(Really cheap) a year for the hosting option i'm looking at.

This weekend i will make a chumtoad. Allready I Have 1/2 done and I have not seen any glaring edge problems. Also i'm going to mod the pattern a bit by adding a mouth.

At 3:05PM (CT) i'm going to start the process to make the bullsquid pattern. It should be out sometime after 6:00PM (CT).
Update I have traced the pattern. Now all thats left is to check every edge for size problems and assign a label.
Update I got delayed a little, but i'm back on track. Maybe another 1.5 hours or so.
Update Almost There, just need some more time, 4 parts left to do and i have to switch computers.
